Applications are invited upto 5.45 p.m on 06-05-2009 for direct recruitment to the vacancies for the years 2007-2008 in the following post:-
Jailor (Post Code 1941)
Scale of Pay: Rs. 5,900 – 200 – 9,900/-per mensem

GENERAL INFORMATION :-
A. The Rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to this post and the distribution of the vacancies will be as per the rule in force
B. The number of vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable to modification with reference to vacancy position at any time before finalisation of selection for Oral Test or selection for appointment, as the case may be.
C. If no qualified and suitable woman candidates are available for selection against the vacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging to the respective communal categories.
D. CERTIFICATE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS:-
Candidates selected for appointment to the post will be required to produce a certificate of physical fitness in the form prescribed for “Executive Posts”. The Standard of vision prescribed for the post is ‘Standard- I.
E. 3% reservation for Physically Handicapped persons, “Destitute Widows” and ‘Ex- Servicemen’ will not apply to this recruitment.
F. Any claim relating to the selection (not related to candidature or/and claims made in the application) should be received within 90 days from the date of announcement of results. Claims received thereafter will receive no attention.
H. Candidates belonging to Backward Class Muslims, (i.e. BCMs) should fill-up Columns 6, 7 and 7(a) of the OMR application form and shade the boxes thereunder. All the concessions/ relaxations / benefits applicable to BC candidates are applicable to BCM candidates also.
I. The expression “BC”.(i.e. Backward Class) wherever it occurs in the Commission’s ‘Instructions, etc. to candidates’, ‘Information Brochure’ and OMR application form, should
be read as “BC(Other than BCM) and BCM)”.

AGE (as on 01.07.2009) :
Minimum Age Limit : Should have completed 18 years (for all candidates).
Maximum Age Limit : Should not have completed 30 years. Should not have completed 35 years in the case of persons who possess

Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration or Master’s degree in Social Work.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:-Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification on the date of this Notification viz. 03-04-2009 A Degree of B.A. or B.Sc. or B.Com. of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant or B.O.L. of Annamalai University or B.B.A. of Madurai Kamaraj University or B.Litt. of Madras Univertsity or B.B.M or B.Litt. of Bharathiar University.
